Our History

After establishing in 1993, Delvin Hull, and son, Ken Hull, began building the company that Hull Enterprises is today. In 1996, Hull Enterprises was Incorporated in order to grow the company. Delvin and Ken started as a two man operation, each with their own truck. Today our fleet now contains over 20 trucks that haul dump, bulk tank, van, and conveyor trailers. Hull Enterprises was established in Colona, IL and we continue our business with a shop and office location there to this day.

In 2001, Hull Enterprises made a leap from a small terminal in Buffalo, IA to a 30+ acre terminal in Muscatine, IA. This terminal is owned by and leased through River Trading Company, based out of Maple Grove, Minnesota. We operate this terminal by loading and unloading coal through barges then stockpiling on location.

Hull Enterprises takes pride in family values and has had many loyal employees become part of our family. Some of these employees have celebrated over 20 years of employment with Hull Enterprises. Now with almost 30 employees, we remain steadfast in keeping this our family business.  In 2013, Delvin formally retired from Hull Enterprises leaving the next generation to take the lead. Hull Enterprises is now owned and operated by Delvin's son, Ken Hull, son, Jason Hull, and granddaughter, Laura Wyffels.

Over the years commodity demands have grown and changed and so have we. Hull Enterprises has expanded beyond coal and ash to include food waste, multiple agricultural commodities, salt, metals, and more. Our company continues to grow, and we are extremely grateful to our employees, customers, and the history that has brought us here.
